Meet Oakley Almberg

  |   Action Spine, Home, Meet the Team   |   No comment

Intern Oakley Almberg is a role model to our community and an inspiration to our team. She is a multi-sport athlete from small town Ely, Nevada. A long way from home, she just made the move to Denver from Houston where she was pursuing her Doctorate of Chiropractic, which she will complete in December of this year. Once she has her Doctorate, we are excited to have her join our team as a full time Chiropractor. She comes to us with a wide variety of experience in sports medicine, injury prevention, sports injury rehabilitation, and is FAKTR, Graston and ART Certified, which makes her a great fit for our practice. For Oakley, Chiropractic isn’t just about showing up to work, seeing patients, then heading home. It’s a lifestyle. Her dedication to her personal growth and development is just one of the many reasons she is a rock star. She has pup named Karl and her hobbies include anything active or artsy, including photography, graphic design, and painting.

How did you get started working in sports medicine?
I’ve been an athlete all my life. In high school I played volleyball, basketball, and I pole-vaulted. Currently I stay active through running, cycling, crossfit, yoga, hiking and looking forward to spending this winter on the mountain!

What are you most excited about in regards to working with athletes?
I love the community that comes with working with athletes. Working with like minded people who share the same interests allows me to build strong connections with my patients.

What advice do you have for athletes who aren’t sure if they need your expertise?
It is amazing what are bodies are capable of but just like a cyclist keeps up with the maintenance on his bike, I am here to help you take care of your body and give it the tune-ups it needs to keep accomplishing goals and defying what was previously thought possible. The heights my athletes reach and the goals they crush are truly an inspiration.

What is your favorite TV show?
The office. What do you love most about fall?
Walking outside and taking a big breath of the cool crisp air, I love photographing the changes in color that fall brings and most of all I love bundling up in cozy winter layers.
