Rapid Release Technology

  |   Action Spine, Business, Sports Medicine   |   No comment

We have an amazing new piece of equipment in the Action Spine offices! Rapid Release Technology is quickly becoming one of our favorite tools.

RRT is a fantastic tool for vibration therapy. We’re fans because of how it works with the other modalities we utilize. This is a great therapy on its own, but when we use it in conjunction with other techniques like dry needling, it becomes a real game changer. Vibration therapy is meant to impact the area of the brain that handles sensation (post central gyrus, specifically the somatosensory cortex by way of the posterior column/medial lemniscus pathway {PCML}). By down regulating that area of the brain we can positively effect things like muscle soreness (especially from other therapies like dry needling).

This treatment also comes in handy when dealing with scenarios where we may not want to needle (game day, or some significant event that is coming up), or risk being overly aggressive with other types of therapies. It provides that medium where we are able to treat the athlete & they leave feeling relaxed & loose, and not have to worry about significant performance based side effects of treatment.
